Abstract:
This clamp unit is provided with a case having an abutting surface, an operating member capable of reciprocating with respect to the case in a pressing force releasing direction and a pressing force promoting direction, a pressing body disposed in such a way as to face the abutting surface with freedom to move in the case, and a moving body disposed between the pressing body and the abutting surface. An inclined surface is provided on at least one of the abutting surface, the moving body, and the pressing body. The inclined surface causes the amount of protrusion of the pressing body from the case to increase as a result of a change in the position of the moving body concomitant with movement of the operating member in the pressing force promoting direction, and slackens the pressing force of the moving body with respect to the pressing body as a result of a change in the position of the moving body concomitant with movement of the operating member in the pressing force releasing direction, thereby permitting a reduction in the amount of protrusion of the pressing body from the case.
