Abstract:

This circuit breaker (30) comprises: a transformer (14) for sending a current signal corresponding to an alternating current flowing in an electric path (1); a reference waveform memory unit (15) having pre-stored therein a reference waveform of a reference frequency for each of a plurality of reference frequencies, one of which is equal to the frequency of the alternating current; a multiplication circuit (8) whereby the current waveform sent from the transformer (14) is multiplied by each of the reference waveforms stored in the reference waveform memory unit (15); an FFT circuit (7) whereby each of the multiplication data from the multiplication by the multiplication circuit (8) is fast-Fourier-transformed and converted into frequency components; and a comparative determination circuit (10) for determining whether or not a direct current component is contained in each of the multiplication data converted into frequency components by the FFT circuit (7), and whereby the reference frequency corresponding to such multiplication data as those containing the largest direct current component is detected as the frequency of the alternating current flowing in the electric path (1).
