Abstract:
In the present invention, by reducing the area of contact with a chain guide by forming the back surface of a link plate into an R-shaped convexity, the coefficient of friction in a fluid lubrication region is lowered (a region E). A coating film containing 10% or more of chromium is formed on the link plate. A friction modifier comprising a molybdenum compound such as MoDTC added to a lubricating oil promotes the production of MoS2 by the chromium coating film and suppresses an increase in the coefficient of friction at a boundary lubrication region.
