Abstract:
This chain tensioner is provided with: a tubular plunger (10) slidably supported in a cylinder (9); a check valve (20) arranged between the plunger (10) and a pressure chamber (18) formed inside the cylinder (9); a connecting path (30) connecting the interior of the plunger (10) and a leak gap (19) between the plunger (10) and the cylinder (9); an oil supply passage (31) connecting the outside and the inside of the cylinder (9); and a tubular separation member (40) standing toward one side from the check valve (20), and provided with an opening (45) into a reservoir chamber (27), said opening being closer to the one side than the oil supply passage (31).
