Abstract:
A chain (13) having a plurality of links (18) arranged in series. Adjacent links (18) in the series direction are coupled so as to be able to rotate. The chain (13) is able to bend on one side in a direction intersecting the series direction and is not able to bend on a second side opposite the first side. Each link (18) is provided with a rotation restriction part (21). When the chain (13) moves in the direction of advance, causing the plurality of links (18) to be arranged so as to be in a straight line and form a linear structure (24), the rotation restriction part (21) of each link (18) forming the linear structure (24) engages with at least the second link (18) arranged to the front of that link (18) in the direction of advance, thereby restricting rotation of the engaged links (18) toward the first side.
