Provided is a centrifugal brake that makes it possible to attach a weight to a support shaft with sufficient ease even with an integrally molded structure with both ends of the support shaft connected and fixed to corresponding end plates. The cross-sectional shape of a support shaft (18) has: an arc-shaped outer circumferential portion (18a) which forms part of the circumference of a reference circle (42); and a reduced portion (18b) such that the diameter of the part of the circumference of the reference circle is locally reduced. The cross-sectional shape of a shaft hole (46) through which the support shaft (18) of a rotation body (6) is inserted into a weight (30) has: an arc-shaped inner circumferential portion (46a) which forms part of the circumference of the reference circle; and a pair of groove definition portions (46b) which extend perpendicularly to the axial direction from both ends of this arc-shaped inner circumferential portion to define a communication groove (48). The communication groove (48) is open at the outer circumferential surface of the weight (30) and is configured such that the reduced portion (18b) of the support shaft (18) faces the groove definition portion (46b) of the shaft hole (46) so that the support shaft (18) can enter the shaft hole (46) through the communication groove (48).
