Abstract:
The present invention provides a cationic electrodeposition coating material which, in an electrodeposition coating step, does not require high-temperature bake drying that emits CO2, which produces almost no volatile components during coating film drying, and which has exceedingly excellent anti-rust properties. Provided is a cationic electrodeposition coating material composition comprising at least two differing emulsions in a mixed state, said cationic electrodeposition coating material composition being characterized in that one of the emulsions is an emulsion (A) of an amine-modified epoxy resin that contains a primary amino group or a secondary amino group, and the other one of the emulsions is an emulsion (B) of an epoxy compound that contains neither a primary amino group nor a secondary amino group, and that contains two or more epoxy groups per molecule. Also provided are a method for producing said coating material composition and a coating method that uses said coating material composition.
