Title:
CATION-EXCHANGE MEMBRANE, ELECTROLYTIC CELL UTILIZING SAME AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CATION-EXCHANGE MEMBRANE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/052538
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are a cation-exchange membrane having an excellent mechanical strength against, for example, folding and being capable of exerting stable electrolysis performance over a long time, an electrolytic cell utilizing the same, and a method for producing a cation-exchange membrane. A cation-exchange membrane (1) at least comprising a membrane body containing a fluoropolymer having an ion-exchange group and two or more reinforcing core members aligned almost in parallel within said membrane body, wherein, in said membrane body, two or more elution holes (12) are formed between adjacent reinforcing core members (10); and the following relationship (1) or (2), among a, b, c and n as will be defined below, is satisfied: b>a/(n+1) (1) c>a/(n+1) (2) wherein a represents the distance between the adjacent reinforcing core members (10); b represents the distance between the reinforcing core member (10) and the elution hole (12) adjacent to each other; c represents the distance between adjacent elution holes (12); and n represents the number of the elution holes (12) formed between the adjacent reinforcing core members (10).
