Abstract:
Provided are a cathode capable of suppressing hydrogen gas generation and an electrolytic capacitor equipped with the cathode. The cathode of the electrolytic capacitor includes a cathode foil of a valve metal and a conductive layer formed on the surface of the cathode foil. The natural immersion potential when the cathode of the electrolytic capacitor is immersed in an electrolytic solution is on the noble side with respect to the natural immersion potential when a reference cathode foil composed of the same type of valve metal as the cathode foil of the cathode and having a purity of 99.99% or more is immersed in the same electrolyte.
