Abstract:
A cat litter manufacturing method recycling shells is provided wherein the method comprises: (A) a shellfish seed physical treatment step of introducing shellfish seeds, laid in the open air after the separation of flesh, into a shellfish seed treatment apparatus to physically separate foreign materials attached to the surface of shells by agitation; (B) a fermentation water immersion step of immersing the shellfish seeds, subjected to step (A), in a fermentation bath in which fermentation water is stored, to perform microbial fermentation at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time; (C) a shell powder preparation step of separating the shellfish seeds, subjected to step (B), from the fermentation bath, followed by washing, drying, and pulverization into powder particles; a first mixing step of mixing the shell powder prepared in step (C), sodium alginate, calcium chloride, and starch; and a second mixing step of mixing the mixture in the first mixing step and bentonite. The cat litter employs oyster shells discarded as marine garbage, and thus is eco-friendly and has no harm even if cats ingest same.
