Title:
CAST METAL COMPONENT FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, BEARING CAP, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/094320
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to solve the problem whereby, when a portion along the parting plane of a bearing cap is poured into a lower case, stress is concentrated due to burrs occurring in this parting portion. Protruding parts (22) which protrude in the axial direction are formed in the bearing caps (20) of an internal combustion engine rotatably supporting a crankshaft that is cast in a lower case (10), with these protruding parts being formed along the parting plane when the bearing caps are cast. Both axial-direction side surfaces of these protruding parts are exposed at both axial-direction side surfaces of rung parts (12) of the lower case, in the same manner as the axial-direction side surfaces of bearing parts (21).
