Abstract:
A carbon dioxide electrolysis cell 1 of one embodiment is provided with: an anode unit 10 which comprises an anode 11 that generates oxygen by oxidizing water or hydroxide ions, and an anode solution flow path 12 that supplies an anode solution to the anode 11; a cathode unit 20 which comprises a cathode 22 that generates a carbon compound through chemical reduction of carbon dioxide, a cathode solution flow path 21 that supplies a cathode solution to the cathode 22, a gas flow path 24 that supplies carbon dioxide to the cathode 22, and a hydrophobic porous body 23 disposed between the cathode 22 and the gas flow path 24; and a separator 30 that separates the anode unit 10 from the cathode unit 20.
