Abstract:
Provided is a cam chain tensioner device that bleeds air at the stage of oil supply, thus suppressing the inclusion of air in a high-pressure chamber, and that can efficiently bleed air. A chain tensioner (31) includes a high pressure chamber (51), a low-pressure chamber (52), and a low-pressure-chamber communication passage (54A). The high-pressure chamber (51) allows a plunger (41), which serves as a pressing member for pressing a chain tensioner guide (28), to generate a pressing force; the low-pressure chamber (52) supplies oil to the high-pressure chamber (51); and the low-pressure-chamber communication passage (54A) communicates from the low-pressure chamber (52) to the inside of an engine (specifically, to a cam chain chamber 13a).
