A cable or a hose whose wear can be reduced even if it is guided by a support. To achieve this, the cable (100) is constituted of a cable body (1), a protective hose (2), and end fittings (3a, 3b). Substantially the entire length of the cable body (1) is surrounded by the protective hose (2) having flexibility and predetermined rigidity in a plane orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the cable body. There is a predetermined gap (4) (1 to 5 mm, for example) between the outer surface (11) of the cable body (1) and the inner surface (21) of the protective hose (2). The end fittings (3a, 3b) are at both ends of the cable body (1). A predetermined gap (5a) is provided between a protective hose (2) side end surface (32a) of the end fitting (3a) and an end fitting (3a) side end surface (22a) of the protective hose (2), and a predetermined gap (5b) is provided between a protective hose (2) side end surface (32b) of the end fitting (3b) and an end fitting (3b) side end surface (22b) of the protective hose (2).
