The present invention provides a cable equipped with a function for detecting an indicator of fault and a system for detecting an indicator of fault in an electric wire that can perform high precision, stepwise detection of indicators that an electric wire will become disconnected.　The cable equipped with a function for detecting an indicator of a fault comprises a designated electric wire having an electric wire conductor and a wire sheath that covers the outer periphery of the electric wire conductor, and a detection wire 3 having a detection wire conductor 31 and a detection wire sheath 32 that covers the outer periphery of the detection wire conductor 31. The detection wire conductor 31 overall has a shorter flexing life than the electric wire conductor, and, as a wire in which an insulation sheath layer 3c is formed on the outer periphery of single wires 3a1, 3b1 made of an electrically conductive material, has long-life wires 3a and short-life wires 3b of shorter flexing life than the long-life wires 3a. The short life wires 3b are arranged in layers on the outer periphery of a group of the long-life wires 3a in the detection wire conductor 31.
