Title:
BRAKE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FRICTION MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/146650
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A brake system comprising a pad (100a) having a frictional surface (101), and a disc (200a) having a frictional surface (201) sliding on the frictional surface (101), wherein the frictional surface (101) includes hard particles (102) supported elastically, the frictional surface (201) includes a plurality of protrusions (202) arranged along the direction in which the frictional surface (201) slides on the frictional surface (101), and, when the frictional surface (201) slides on the frictional surface (101), the hard particles (102) abut on the respective protrusions (202) continuously while displacing in the direction perpendicular to the frictional surface (201). Consequently, abrasion resistance can be enhanced. Since only the vicinity of the top of a hard particle (102) and the vicinity of the top of a protrusion (202) abut on each other, a hard particle (102) does not follow up the protrusions and recesses of the frictional surface (201), and thereby a hard particle (102) and a protrusion (202) repeat a point contact. Consequently, the distance between a hard particle (102) and a protrusion (202) is stabilized to stabilize an adhesive frictional force, therefore a stabilized frictional force can be obtained.
