Abstract:
Provided is a brake device with which a member to be subjected to braking can be stopped and held by pressing braking members against the member to be subjected to braking, and removing an accreted substance. A brake device (1) according to the present invention is provided with: a member (20) to be subjected to braking which rotates as a result of a driving force of a motor; and braking members (10a) which, in cases when the member (20) to be subjected to braking is stopped by control of the motor, press against the member (20) to be subjected to braking to stop and hold said member (20). The braking members (10a) have grooves (121a) provided to surfaces thereof which face the member (20) to be subjected to braking. The volumetric capacity of the grooves (121a) is at least the volume of an accreted substance which accretes between the braking members (10a) and the member (20) to be subjected to braking.
