Description:
BOLT AND NUT Technical Field The present invention is related to a bolt and a nut, and in particular, to a structure of bolt and nut enabling a bolt and a nut to be easily coupled or separated with a single rotating movement regardless of a length required for coupling or separating the bolt and the nut.

Background Art In general, bolts and nuts are widely used in daily lives apart from the mechanical field alone. While their major function is to couple and fix two members in machinery, architectural structures or in other daily necessities, bolts and nuts are also widely used to dissemble or separate coupled fittings, daily necessities or architectural structures. Thus, the bolts and nuts are commonly used in our daily lives or industries. Since the bolts and nuts comprise screw portions only, however, they can be coupled or separated only through continuous rotation either in clockwise or anti-clockwise direction along with the screw portion once after contacting the female screw portion inside of the nut with the tip of the male screw portion of the bolt. Therefore, the bolts and nuts can be completely coupled or separated only by rotating them in clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. In other words, the conventional bolts and nuts can be coupled or separated through rotational movement only, thereby requiring a considerable amount of time and effort. For this reason, expensive electric automatic tools are mainly used recent days for coupling or separation of bolts and nuts. Further, the conventional bolts and nuts have caused inconvenience in plumbing, dissembling or assembling works. Besides, bolts become useless once the tips of their screw portions are crumbled.

Disclosure of Invention It is, therefore, an object of the present invention to provide a structure of the bolt and nut with an awareness of the above problems caused due to the structure of the conventional bolt and nut having a structure composed of screw portions alone and necessitating continuous rotating movement until reaching a predetermined position of the nut for coupling with the bolt.

To achieve the above object, there is provided a structure of a bolt and a nut enabling the bolt and nut to be easily coupled or separated with a single rotating movement regardless of a length of the bolt and nut to be coupled or separated.

The structure of a bolt and a nut according to the present invention is compatible with the conventional bolt and nut.

The bolt and the nut according to the present invention comprise: a bolt 11 having screw portions 14 formed in a predetermined area of a male screw in a longitudinal direction, and hollow portions 15 formed in a longitudinal direction by cutting the surface of the male screw portion ; and a nut 12 having screw portions 14 formed in a predetermined area of a female screw in a longitudinal direction, and hollow portions 15 formed by cutting inside of the female screw portion of the nut 12 in a longitudinal direction to correspond to the bolt 11.

Preferably, a pair of hollow portions 15 and screw portions 14 is formed in the bolt 11 and the nut 12 to face each other.

In order to couple or separate the bolt and the nut according to the present invention, the screw portions 14 and the hollow portions 15 should be located in the bolt 11 and the nut 11 so that the hollow portions 15 and the screw portions 14 of the nut 12 may correspond to the screw portions 14 and the hollow portions 15 of the bolt 11. Then,

the bolt 11 and the nut 12 can be easily coupled without rotating the bolt 11 or the nut 12 until reaching a predetermined position.

The method of coupling or separating the bolt and the nut according to the present invention comprises the steps of : forming the screw portions 14 in the bolt 11 so as to face the hollows of the nut 12; forming the hollows 15 in the bolt 11 so as to face the screw portions 14 in the nut 12; pushing or pulling the bolt 11 or the nut 12 until the position of enabling the bolt 11 and the nut 12 to be directly coupled or separated without rotation.

Thus, the method of coupling or separating the bolt and the nut according to the present invention enables the bolt and the nut to be easily coupled or separated without reciprocal rotation but with straightforward pushing or pulling movement and a rotating movement.

Brief Description of Drawings The above object, features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 illustrates a front view and a bottom plan view of a conventional bolt; Fig. 2 illustrates a front view and a bottom plan view of a conventional nut; Fig. 3a is a front view of a bolt according to the present invention; Fig. 3b is a bottom plan view of the bolt according to the present invention; Fig. 3c is a front view of a nut according to the present invention; Fig. 3d is a bottom plan view of the nut according to the present invention; and Fig. 4 illustrates perspective views of the bolt and the nut according to the present invention when coupled and separated.

Best Modes for Carrying out the Invention Best modes for carrying out the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following description, same drawing reference numerals are used for the same elements even in different drawings. The matters defined in the description such as a detailed construction and elements of a circuit are nothing but the ones provided to assist in a comprehensive understanding of the invention. Thus, it is apparent that the present invention can be carried out without those defined matters. Also, well-known functions or constructions are not described in detail since they would obscure the invention in unnecessary detail.

Figs. 1 and 2 illustrate the conventional bolt 11 mainly comprising male screw portions 14 and a head 13, and the conventional nut 12 mainly comprising female screw portions 14.

Figs. 3a to 3d illustrate constructions of the bolt 11 and the nut 12 according to the present invention.

As shown in Fig. 3, the bolt 11 according to the present invention comprises a head 13, screw portions 14 cut with a predetermined angle so as to be coupled with the nut 12 in any positions, and hollow portions 15 having a predetermined width and depth in a horizontal direction of the screw portions 14. The nut 12 according to the present invention comprises screw portions 14 cut with a predetermined angle so as to be coupled with the bolt 11 in any positions, and hollow portions 15 having a predetermined width and depth in a horizontal direction of the screw portions 14.

The bolt 11 according to the present invention has the same number of screw portions as the hollow portions 15. Likewise, the nut 12 according to the present invention has the same number of screw portions as the hollow portions 15. The hollow portions 15 of the bolt 11 and the nut 12 are structured to smoothly receive the screw

portions 14 of the bolt 11 and the nut 12.

Fig. 4 illustrates perspective views of the bolt and the nut according to the present invention when coupled and separated. Referring to Fig. 4, the bolt 11 and the nut 12 can be coupled in the following manner. The hollow portions 15 of the bolt 11 and the screw portions 14 of the nut 12 are located to correspond to each other. The screw portions 14 of the bolt 11 and the hollow portions 15 of the nut 12 are located to correspond to each other. The bolt 11 and the nut 12 are pushed straight forward in the arrow direction until reaching the positions enabling them to be coupled without rotation. Then, the screw portions 14 of the bolt 11 and the screw portions 14 of the nut 12 are coupled and fixed through reciprocal rotation.

On the other hand, the bolt 11 and the nut 12 that have been coupled can be separated in the following manner. The bolt 11 or the nut 12 is reversely rotated. The hollow portions 15 of the bolt 11 are located to correspond to the screw portions 14 of the nut 12 so that the nut 12 can be separated from the bolt 11.

Thus, the method of coupling and separating the bolt 11 and the nut 12 according to the present invention relies not only on the rotating movement but also on the pushing or pulling movement in a straightforward direction.

Industrial Applicability As described above, the present invention provides a structure of easily coupling or separating the bolt and the nut by means of a single rotating movement and a pushing or pulling movement regardless of the length required for coupling or separating the bolt and the nut. In addition, the present invention also provides a structure compatible with the conventional bolt and the nut. In other words, the bolt having the hollow portions according to the present invention can be coupled with the conventional nut, and vice versa. Accordingly, the present invention provides a structure of bolt and nut of high practicability and convenience, enabling the bolt and the nut to be easily coupled or separated without much labor.
