Title:
BINDER CONTAINING CELLULOSE FOR WATER ELECTROLYSIS ELECTRODE, HYDROPHILIC WATER ELECTROLYSIS NEGATIVE ELECTRODE COMPRISING SAME, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2024/058401
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a binder containing (hydroxypropyl)methyl cellulose for a water electrolysis electrode, a water electrolysis negative electrode comprising same, and a method for manufacturing same. The binder may include at least one of first (hydroxypropyl)methyl cellulose, second (hydroxypropyl)methyl cellulose, and third (hydroxypropyl)methyl cellulose, which have different viscosities. The water electrolysis negative electrode has enhanced hydrophilicity by employing the binder, a catalyst, and a solvent, and thus forms a specific contact angle range. In addition, in the manufacturing of the negative electrode, the strength of the electrode can be increased by polymerizing (hydroxypropyl)methyl cellulose through IPA gelation to improve crosslinking.
