Abstract:
A bearing device for supporting a shaft member, which drives and rotates, in a rotatable manner by means of a predetermined support member. The bearing device is provided with: an annular inner ring disposed on the shaft member; an annular outer ring disposed on the support member; multiple rolling elements which come into contact with the outer ring and the inner ring and which roll; an annular retainer which holds the rolling elements that are adjacent to one another in the rotating direction of the shaft member such that said adjacent rolling elements are arranged along said rotating direction with a space therebetween; a precompression application device which brings the rolling elements into pressure contact with the outer ring and the inner ring by applying precompression; a sensor for outputting measurement data pertaining to the rotational frequency of the retainer; an output unit for outputting instruction data indicating the rotational frequency of the shaft member; and a control unit which controls the precompression of the precompression application device on the basis of the measurement data pertaining to the rotational frequency of the retainer and the instruction data indicating the rotational frequency of the shaft member.
