Abstract:
A bearing device (1) supports a rotating body (500) by means of a bearing (5) that includes inner rings (5ia, 5ib), outer rings (5ga, 5gb), and rolling bodies (Ta, Tb). The bearing device (1) is provided with: a power generation device (25) that includes a Peltier element the power generation amount of which changes in response to a temperature difference between the inner ring (5ia) and the outer ring (5ga) generated in the bearing (5); and an abnormality detection device (100) for detecting an abnormality of the bearing on the basis of the power generation amount of the power generation device (25). Preferably the abnormality detection device (100) uses any of the power generation amount of the power generation device (25), a time-derivative value of the power generation amount, and a dependent relationship between the power generation amount and another parameter to detect an abnormality of the bearing (5a). Thus are provided a bearing device and a spacer with which an abnormality in a bearing can be detected quickly and accurately.
