Abstract:
The present invention provides a battery module, comprising: a plurality of batteries, each of the batteries being provided with a battery explosion-proof valve; an upper cover provided with a module explosion-proof valve; and a lower box assembled with the upper cover. An enclosed passage is provided between the upper cover and the plurality of batteries, and the module explosion-proof valve and battery explosion-proof valves are exposed to the enclosed passage. As the module explosion-proof valve and the battery explosion-proof valves are exposed to the enclosed passage, when any one of the plurality of batteries fails, a large amount of high-temperature and high-pressure gas generated at the moment of failure firstly bursts out of its own battery explosion-proof valve and enters the enclosed passage and accumulates gradually in the enclosed passage; and when the accumulated air pressure in the enclosed passage is greater than the opening pressure of the module explosion-proof valve, the high-temperature and high-pressure gas bursts out of the module explosion-proof valve and then is released to the outside of the battery module in a certain direction. Thereby, the damage of the high-temperature and high-pressure gas to the other normal batteries in the battery module is reduced, reducing the probability of fire and explosion.
