Abstract:
This backup pin discrimination method is applied to a component mounting machine that is equipped with a camera capable of capturing a monochrome image of an object and a light source unit capable of irradiating the object with multiple primary color light rays, and that is for mounting a component to a substrate while supporting the substrate by backup pins from underneath. The method involves: acquiring multiple images by disposing the backup pins, which have colors different for each type, at locations where images of the backup pins can be captured by the camera, and capturing, by the camera, images of the backup pins in a state of being irradiated with the respective primary color light rays from the light source unit; acquiring, from the respective images, primary color luminance values corresponding to the respective primary color light rays used for irradiation at the time of capturing said images; and identifying colors on the basis of the acquired multiple primary color light luminance values, thereby discriminating the types of the backup pins on the basis of the identified colors.
