Abstract:

An automatic transmission (1) is provided with: a continuously variable gear change mechanism (20) for forming a first transmission path (CO1) capable of continuously gear-changing rotation that is input to an input shaft (10) and outputting same to output shafts (62l, 62r); a clutch (C-1) capable of connecting the first transmission path (CO1); and a planetary gear set (PS) for forming a second transmission path (CO2) parallel to the continuously variable gear change mechanism (20) from the input shaft (10) to the output shafts (62l, 62r) and capable of achieving forward gears and a reverse gear. Said planetary gear set (PS) is configured from a two-level planetary gear set comprising: a first sun gear (S1); a middle gear (MG) in which a first ring gear (R1) and a second sun gear (S2) form a unit; a second ring gear (R2); and a common carrier (CR) for supporting a first pinion (P1) and a second pinion (P2) so as to rotate freely.
