Abstract:
An automatic transmission according to the present invention comprises a torque converter, a variator, a sub-transmission mechanism, a third rotational speed sensor for detecting a rotational speed Nout on the output shaft side of the sub-transmission mechanism, and a controller for controlling the operation of the torque converter, variator, and sub-transmission mechanism. The controller comprises: a computing unit for computing, from the rotational speed Nout detected by the third rotational speed sensor, a vibration level Lfn in prescribed frequency regions F1, F2 in a vibration component of the rotational speed Nout; and a determining unit for determining a location at which vibration is occurring on the basis of the vibration level Lfn in the frequency regions F1, F2 as computed by the computing unit.
