Abstract:
In this automatic transmission control method, a control mode is switched between a first control mode for controlling a transmission pump on the basis of an actual transmission ratio, which is the actual transmission ratio of a variator, and a second control mode for controlling the transmission pump on the basis of an actual operating pressure, which is the actual operating pressure of the variator. In the first control mode, the actual transmission ratio is calculated on the basis of a detected value of a vehicle speed, and the transmission pump is controlled in such a way as to cause the actual transmission ratio to approach a target transmission ratio. In the second control mode, the actual operating pressure is detected, and the transmission pump is controlled in such a way as to cause the actual operating pressure to approach a target operating pressure corresponding to the target transmission ratio. The control mode is switched from the first control mode to the second control mode under conditions or criteria causing a deterioration in vehicle speed detection accuracy.
