Abstract:
A method for purifying aqueous hydrogen peroxide by sequentially passing aqueous hydrogen peroxide through a first H-type strong cation exchange resin column 1, a base-type strong anion exchange resin column 2, and a second H-type strong cation exchange resin column 3, wherein the H-type strong cation exchange resin used as the H-type strong cation exchange resin in the second H-type strong cation exchange resin column 3 exhibits a degree of cross-linkage in the range of 6-9%, inclusive, or is produced by following steps (a) and (b). (a) A step for obtaining a cross-linked copolymer by copolymerizing a monovinyl aromatic monomer and a cross-linkable aromatic monomer in which the non-polymerizable impurity content is 3 wt% or less at a prescribed polymerization temperature and by using a prescribed amount of a specific radical polymerization initiator. (b) A step for sulfonating the cross-linked copolymer.
