Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus for treating food waste, which dries and treats food waste, the apparatus comprising: a main body having a space provided therein and a suction hole on one side thereof and an exhaust hole on the other side thereof; a drying unit which is provided in an upper portion of the inside of the main body and applies heat to food waste that is put inside and is to be treated, to thereby generate and discharge high-temperature humid air; a condensation unit which cools and condenses the air discharged from the drying unit with air in the atmosphere, and generates and discharges condensate; and a control unit which outputs a control signal according to an operating state of the drying unit, to the drying unit and the condensation unit. According to the present invention having the above-described configurations, to treat food waste, high-temperature humid air generated after the food waste is heated is cooled with air in the atmosphere, thereby removing moisture, and then is reused in order to dry the food waste. Thus, moisture can be removed using only less energy.
