TECHNICAL FIELD

This invention is classified as relevant to the manufacture of amber-filled physiotherapy devices, particularly women's bra liners, blindfolds for the eyes, corsets, dressings for wounds and patches intended for local application on specific body parts. This invention is associated with the physiotherapeutic, prophylactic or healing properties of amber and the use of these devices for a positive effect on a person's body, for the strengthening of the person's physical health, stimulation of the immune system and healing of wounds.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

The positive effects of amber on the human body have been known for a long time. The earliest users of amber in medicine were the ancient Romans, Chinese, Persians and Arabs. The amber was crushed and from it were produced various ointments, tinctures and incenses. In antiquity our ancestors wore amber necklaces and other amber decorations not just for their beauty, but also hoping to get protection from possible illnesses. In recent times people are coming back to natural, traditional folk medicine and amber is being ever more widely used not just for decorative purposes but also as a gemstone that has healing power. There are now in use amber physiotherapy tables, bathtubs, mats with amber filling, likewise blankets, pillows and clothes.

However, the drawback with all these methods of using amber is that either a specialised form of treatment is needed, which is rather expensive (amber table, bath), or a large amount of amber needs to be used in bedding, clothes or the person's environment. This makes it an expensive and time-consuming process.

Hence the need to create amber-filled physiotherapeutic devices intended to be used on specific parts of the body, which can be easily applied and kept in place for the desired period of time, remains.

It is known Lithuanian patent No. 4841 , which describes a process of incorporating tiny bits of amber into plant-origin textile material, particularly jeans denim, cotton and linen textiles, giving the plant-origin textile material an original yellowy-green tinge and therapeutic properties. However, the drawback of this invention is that the bits of amber are very small and by the time the material has been heated to 80-90° C and soaked in a suspension of amber powder, alcohol, water and agar at a temperature of 90° C, the amber has no natural therapeutic properties left.

There is a Japanese patent No. JPH0929361 , which describes a method for obtaining fibre that has the composition of amber and is notable for its antiallergic and antibacterial properties. The fibre is obtained by using nylon or polyester fibre and an organic solvent and thereby extracting the amber composition. The drawback of this invention is that the result of the process is a synthetic fabric containing some processed powdered natural amber.

It is known Lithuanian patent No. 4810 which describes the use of substantial amounts of finely ground amber in people's clothes, head coverings, bedding and other objects of domestic use. The drawback of this invention is that because of the substantial amber content, the products are expensive and not convenient to use on a specific part of the body or for short periods.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This invention seeks to create amber-filled physiotherapy devices made from natural fabric (100% cotton or linen), designed to be placed on a certain part of the body and worn for the desired period. Since amber starts to emanate its curative properties at +26° C amber that is worn on the body in the afore-mentioned physiotherapy devices warms up to body temperature and it begins to act as a healing or prophylactic measure.

Specifically this invention is aimed at the production of women's corsets with amber infill, in cases where corsets are used to support the whole waist and belly, or part of them, or where the corsets are intended for pregnant women or women who have recently given birth to a baby.

This invention is also intended for the production of amber-filled pads for a woman's breasts and women's bra liners.

This invention is also intended for the production of amber-filled bands that can be used as blindfolds or worn over the forehead or face. This invention is also intended for the production of various amber-filled socks, sheets and bands that can be used on various parts of the body.

MOST SUITABLE FORMS OF IMPLEMENTATION

Goal of this invention is that it would involve the production of amber- impregnated physiotherapy devices, intended to be placed locally on the part of the body desired. These physiotherapy devices would be made from natural fibre (100% cotton or linen) layers, interspersed with a sprinkling of fine amber pieces. All the physiotherapy devices would be made from natural, ecological products.

Example 1

WOMAN'S CORSET IMPREGNATED WITH TINY PIECES OF AMBER.

This corset (Fig. 1 ) is made (SIA TONUS ELAST) from elastic material certified in Latvia. An amber-impregnated lining (100% cotton fabric) is sewn onto the middle part of the corset. Likewise, an amber-impregnated lining is sewn onto the upper part of the corset. On the outer side of the corset is sewn a broad rubber belt, which helps keep the corset firm against the body by the use of velcro pads.

This corset is recommended to be worn after operations, since, as mentioned earlier, amber has good antiseptic properties. An amber corset supplies energy and improves the sense of wellness. The corset holds the bottom part of the belly in. This corset also affects the spine positively, helping to ease back pain. Example 2.

WOMAN'S CORSET FOR PREGNANT WOMEN

This corset is made from the same material as the corset in Fig. 1. The amber-impregnated pad is inserted into the lining of the corset and tied with a tie (Fig. 2). It is fastened to the body, as in the first example. The difference is that the front of this corset is laceable, which allows its belly-shaping capacity to be regulated. Likewise, if the purpose of the corset in Fig. 1 is to gird and hold in place the lower belly and to support the back, then with this corset it is possible to support the back as well as girding the whole belly with the amber-impregnated girdle and holding it in place that way. This way the whole belly gets the positive effect of amber.

This corset is recommended for pregnant women. Wearing such a corset reduces the risk of possible miscarriage. It is also recommended for women who wish to get pregnant. It is also recommended that the girdle be worn prophylactically after giving birth. It helps the belly skin to recover more quickly, reducing stretch marks. The corset should be worn only during the day. It is removed for the night. It can be laundered by hand in water at a temperature of +30-40° C.

The insert for the corset shown in Fig. 2 can be removed and washed separately.

Example 3.

AMBER-IMPREGNATED WOMAN'S BREAST PAD

This pad (Fig. 3, 4) is made from 00% natural cotton fabric and filled with tiny pieces of unpolished amber. The liners can also be used with covers that are also made from 100% natural fibre. Using covers makes it possible to keep the liners clean longer (only the covers needing laundering).

The pad is inserted into the cover through an aperture designed for this purpose, fastened by a velcro patch. In the upper part (which covers the breast), the pad is buttoned on. This way all of the woman's breast encompassed by the amber- impregnated pad.

It is used before giving birth and after giving birth as well; also after an operation on the breast. Amber is a good antiseptic, it reduces inflammation, it improves circulation in the breast, it improves the quality of the mother's breast milk and it stimulates lactation. Amber also helps wounds to heal. It is convenient to wear, easy to look after, and easy to put on or take off. Example 4.

WOMAN'S BRA LINER

This (Fig. 5) is made of natural (100% cotton) fabric impregnated with pulverised amber. It is attached to the bra with velcro. Also used is a standard bra liner, which is impregnated with pulverised amber.

This liner can be used after operations as well as prophylactically, for the purpose of keeping the breasts beautiful and healthy. Also in pregnancy, to ensure the production of safe, good quality milk for the child.

Example 5.

AMBER-FILLED BANDS THAT CAN BE USED AS BLINDFOLDS OR WORN OVER THE FOREHEAD OR FACE (EYES)

This band (Fig. 6) is made from 100% natural fibre and it is impregnated with tiny pieces of unpolished amber. The band is fastened to the head with elastic strips.

This band is convenient to wear while sleeping, likewise while travelling, because it is light and small. This band helps ease insomnia and strong headaches, it soothes tired eyes and helps ease the symptoms of colds and sinusitis.
