Abstract:
Provided is an aluminum alloy ingot that can be advantageously used as a raw material for an aluminum alloy material (product) having improved tensile strength. The aluminum alloy ingot contains 0.3-1.0 mass% of Cu, 0.6-1.2 mass% of Mg, 0.9-1.4 mass% of Si, 0.4-0.6 mass% of Mn, 0.1-0.7 mass% of Fe, 0.09-0.25 mass% of Cr, and 0.012-0.035 mass% of Ti. In the aluminum alloy ingot, in an X-ray diffraction pattern measured using the Cu-Kα line, the peak height of a diffraction peak at a diffraction angle 2θ of 41.6-42.0° is smaller than six times the standard deviation of the background X-ray intensity in the full-width-at-half-maximum range of the diffraction peak, and in a heat-treated item after being heat-treated for one hour at 450°C, the peak height of a diffraction peak at a diffraction angle 2θ of 41.6-42.0° is at least 15 times the standard deviation of the background X-ray intensity in the full-width-at-half-maximum range of the diffraction peak.
