Abstract:
An air foil journal bearing may comprise: a bearing housing that rotatably supports a rotating shaft and includes a hollow space into which the rotating shaft is inserted; and an air foil that is disposed between the inner circumferential surface of the bearing housing and the outer circumferential surface of the rotating shaft. The air foil may comprise: a first foil area that extends in the circumferential direction to encompass 180 to 360 degrees around the rotating shaft; and a pair of second foil areas that are connected to both ends of the first foil area respectively along the axial direction of the rotating shaft, extend in the circumferential direction to encompass 180 to 360 degrees around the rotating shaft, and each have a plurality of elastic bumps formed along the circumferential direction on the surface thereof.
