Abstract:
Provided is an air damper that can obtain an effect of preventing the disengaging of a locking claw of a cap attached to a cylinder regardless of the direction in which a rod of a piston swings with respect to the cylinder. This air damper 100 comprises: a cylinder 200; a piston 301 that is inserted into the cylinder; a rod 302 that is connected to the piston and protrudes from an opening; and a cap 400 that is attached to an opening of the cylinder. A plurality of engagement holes 204 are formed at an edge of the opening of the cylinder, and an engagement claw 408 that fits in the engagement hole from the inside of the engagement hole is formed in the cap 400. The piston or rod is provided with: a stopper part 313 that abuts the cap when the rod is pulled out to the maximum; and a bending regulation unit 310 that is located inside the engagement claw and regulates inward bending of the engagement claw. An inclined surface inclined with respect to a rotation axis of an attachment part with respect to an attached part of the rod is formed inside the engagement claw, and when the rod swings, this inclined surface is an abutting surface that abuts the bending regulation unit 310.
