Detailed Description of the Invention

The adapter for well to be installed on the cylindrical wall 8 of the well casing contains the main mating parts: a "slider" and a "base". The “slider” is formed by a longitudinal inlet branch 1, made with a side flange 15. The “base” is formed by a transverse outlet branch 3 made with an end flange 17. The channels of the branches 1,3 and the holes of the flanges 15,17 form a continuous sealed rotary pipeline (hydraulic path) of the adapter. The geometric axes of the branch channels 1,3 intersect at right angles.

Typically, the branch pipe 3 of the pipeline is made integral with the end flange 17 to form a one-piece “base” of the adapter, and the branch 1 of the pipeline is integral with the side flange 15, forming a one-piece “slider”. "Slider" and "base" parts are made, for example, of brass.

The flange 15 is provided on its front plane (for mating with the flange 17) with two longitudinal parallel steps "pins" 16, and the flange 17 is equipped on its front plane (for mating with the flange 15) with two longitudinal grooves "slides" 19 to form a connection of the slider and the dovetail base. A support washer 6 made of plastic and a stop nut 7 are installed on the branch 3 of the adapter.

The longitudinal inlet branch 1 and the transverse outlet branch 3 are designed to be installed parallel and perpendicular, respectively, to the axis of the wall 8 of the well casing. Branch pipes 1,3 of the adapter are made with the possibility of connection with the pressure pipe 14 of the borehole (submersible) pump and with the discharge pipe 13 connected to the consumer, respectively.

The longitudinal inlet branch 1 is made with two threaded holes isolated from each other (not indicated) along the edges. The threaded hole on one side is made for the socket mounting wrench 12, and the threaded hole on the other side is for connection with the pressure pipe 14. The side flange 15 is made with a through hole on its plane and with parallel longitudinal steps 16 on the periphery of the latter. The stop (hold-down) nut 7 is made with the possibility of fixing the position of the support washer 6 and the transverse branch 3 of the base installed in the hole of the wall 8.

The end flange 17 of the branch 3 is made with a convex cylindrical rear side (segment) 26, on which there are several (six) convex segments 18 of the cylindrical surface, located on a circle around the pipe 3, and several (four) convex segments 24 of the cylindrical surface on the periphery. The convex segments 24 are located at the comers of the flange 17 from the side opposite the plane of its mating with the side flange 15 of the slider. The flange 17 has a pair of eye ends 10 protruding up and down.

The segments 18,24 of the flange 17 are configured to mount the flange 17 with the rear side to the inner surface of the wall 8 of the well casing. Along the front plane edges of the flange 17, slides (grooves) 19 are made with the possibility of interacting with the steps 16 of the said side flange 15 when the planes of these flanges 15,17 are mated.

On the other side, the transverse branch 3 of the pipeline is made with external thread for connection with the outlet pipe 13 of the consumer's supply, and is equipped with a support washer 6 made of stainless material - plastic with a lot of (twenty) ribs 25 on one side and with a concave segment 27 of the cylindrical surface, on the other side - for mounting to the outer surface of the wall 8 of the well casing. The stop nut 7 is installed on the thread of the transverse pipe 3 and wrench notches 11 are made.

In the adapter slider design on the flange 15 at the edge of the steps 16, a stop 23 is provided, located across the direction of the steps 16 and the grooves 19 of the dovetail connection. The stop 23 is designed to stop the movement of the slider down in this connection at a position when the alignment of the mating holes of the flanges 15, 17 is achieved.

The longitudinal branch 1 of the pipeline is made with a blind partition 20 inside, and the transverse branch 3 of the pipeline is made with internal longitudinal ribs 9 for visual control of the angular position of the branch 3.

The branch pipe 1 of the pipeline is made with a threaded axial hole (not indicated) for the pipe, for connection with the pressure pipe 14 of the submersible pump with the collet clamp 21 (compression fitting).

The branch 3 is made with external thread for connection with the outlet pipe 13 of the consumer's supply with the collet clamp 22 (compression fitting) and is equipped with eye ends 10 along the periphery for connecting a lifting device. In other cases, each pipe 13, 14 can be connected to the adapter directly through threaded connections (using mating threads on pipes or a coupling). The side flange 15 is equipped with an O-ring 2 made of elastic material.

The support washer 6 made of plastic is equipped with annular radial and mechanical seals 5, 4, respectively, made of elastic material.

The assembled adapter looks like a simple right-angle connector.

Preferred embodiment of the Invention

The adapter for well is operated as follows.

The adapter is mounted in the hole of the side wall 8 of the well casing pipe at a depth below the freezing point, which is connected by a longitudinal branch 1 to the pressure pipe 14 of the submersible pump, and by a transverse branch 3 to the outlet pipe 13 (water- supply line) to the consumer. Thus, the adapter connects 2 pipes 13, 14 at an angle of 90°, which allows one to place a horizontal section of pipes at a depth of 1500-2000 mm, i.e. below the depth of ground freezing.

The adapter is installed on the wall 8 of the well casing in the following way.

Operation 1

First, a through hole must be made in the wall 8 of the well casing, located below the depth of ground freezing. The recommended hole diameter for mounting the adapter is from 38 to 43 mm. In the installation area, a pit must be provided in such a way that it can accommodate a specialist conducting installation work.

Operation 2

A synthetic rope is passed through the eye end 10 of the flange 17 of the adapter branch 3. To ensure the possibility of dismantling the branch 3, the synthetic rope is attached to the cover (head) of the well.

Operation 3

Using the synthetic rope, the branch 3 is lowered into the well casing and mounted in a previously prepared through hole in the wall 8 of the well casing.

Operation 4

As shown in Fig. 2 and 3, using the rubber ring 5, the support washer 6 and the nut 7, the flange 17 of the branch 3 is tightly fixed on the wall 8 of the well casing. The vertical position of the grooves 19 of the flange 17 is visually controlled by the position of the internal ribs 9 in one vertical plane.

Visually or by technical means, it is checked that the longitudinal branch 1 of the adapter is installed vertically. Longitudinal ribs 9 should be parallel to the wall 8 of the well casing.

Operation 5 The consumer supply pipe 13 is connected to the external thread of the adapter branch 3 using the collet clamp 22 as shown in Figs=. 5 and 6. Then the synthetic rope can be removed from the well casing.

Operation 6

The branch 1 of the adapter slider is connected to the pressure line 14 coming from the submersible pump using the previously prepared T-shaped wrench 12. Having lowered the entire structure into the casing, the flange 15 and flange 17 are mated with opposite flat surfaces using the dovetail threadless connection as shown in Fig. 3, 6.

Therein the branch pipe 1 (of the slider) is mated with the flange 17 of the transverse branch 3 (of the base) by the flange 15. The steps 16 on the slider provide the base of the flange 15 on the flange 17 in the slides 19. The stop 23 stops the movement of the slider down in this connection when the alignment of the mating holes of the flanges 15,17 of the branches 1, 3 is achieved.

The joint of the flanges 15,17 of the branches 1, 3 is sealed with an elastic seal 2. The washer 6 and the branch pipe 3 are sealed with an elastic seal 5. The branch pipe 3 and the washer 6 are sealed with an elastic seal 4. The pressure line 14 is connected to the branch 1 with its external thread and fastened with the collet clamp 21.

Longitudinal internal ribs 9 serve for visual control of the vertical orientation of the grooves 19 of the flange 17 parallel to the wall 8 of the well casing.

Special wrench notches 11 can be used to hold the branch 3 when screwing on the nut 7. If necessary, the branch 3 with the flange 17 is turned with a wrench put on the notches 11. The eye ends 10 are used to hang the slider on the synthetic rope during its installation and dismantling.

Operation 7

The T-shaped mounting wrench 12 is unscrewed along the thread from the blind threaded hole of the branch 1 and removed from the well casing. Therein, the weight of the downhole pumping equipment and the pipe falls on the adapter for well.

Operation 8

The submersible pump is started and all connections are checked for water leaks. In case of a leak, one must turn off the pump, drain the water from the system and tighten the connections.

The adapter is ready for operation.

At intake of liquid from a submersible pump, it is supplied to the consumer through pipes 13, 14 and branches 1, 3, without using a caisson. Therein, the adapter for well, located in the cavity of the water intake channel below the level of ground freezing, prevents icing in winter. The adapter design provides unobstructed access to the vertical well casing or well and to the electrically driven submersible pump installed in it, without removing the wellhead. If necessary, the de-mating of the flanges 15, 17 in the "dovetail" connection is carried out by simply lifting up the pipe 14 with the pump.

Since the ground does not freeze at such depths, the pipes do not need to be covered with a heat-insulating layer or an electric heating installation. The design of the unit provides unobstructed access to a vertical wellbore or well and an electrically driven pump installed in it.

Thus, as a result of embodiment of the claimed invention, an alternative original adapter for well is created, the possibility of implementing unexpensive small-scale production.

The adapter of small size has increased reliability and durability, as it does not allow corrosion of the mounting washer and allows one to control the accuracy of the relative position of the main parts.

The presence of a plastic washer on the transverse (outlet branch) with elastic seals contributes to damping of short pulses of water hammer and pressure pulsations by giving the surface of the wave front a spherical shape and, accordingly, reducing the energy density of the shock wave and the pressure pulsation wave along its pathways.

Simultaneously, increased labor productivity during the installation of the adapter for well, optimization of operation (reduction of labor intensity of the installation process control, reduction of financial and time costs of installation of the adapter for well) is ensured, zones with abnormally high mechanical stresses on the liquid pumping element, which are responsible for frequency of mechanical loads distribution, structural strength and tightness are eliminated.
