To provide a drive unit which is wide in a scope of application, and can reduce a drive loss.SOLUTION: In a drive unit 10 in which an endless circulation path 20 is formed in a housing 13 in which a rotation drive shaft 11 and a rotation driven shaft 12 are arranged in directions intersecting with each other, and which transmits a rotation drive force to the rotation driven shaft 12 from the rotation drive shaft 11 by using a plurality of drive force transmission elements 18, 18, 18 ... which roll in the endless circulation path 20, a sprocket 15 for continuously sending out the drive force transmission elements 18, 18 ... toward the rotation driven shaft 12 by making a part of them face the endless circulation path 20 is arranged at the rotation drive shaft 11, and a sprocket rotor 16 which is urged to rotate by the drive force transmission elements 18, 18, 18 ... which are sent from the sprocket 15 via the endless circulation path 20 while being partially made to face the inside of the endless circulation path 20, and at the same time, sends out the drive force transmission elements toward the sprocket 15 of the rotation drive shaft 11 via the endless circulation path 20 is arranged at the rotation driven shaft 12, thus solving the problem.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
