Abstract:
A coupling device that is interposed between a first shaft and a second shaft each of which is capable of rotating around an axis, said coupling device being provided with: a casing that is stationary with respect to the axis; a stator that is prevented from rotating relative to the casing, and that generates magnetic flux parallel to the axis in accordance with the input of power; a rotor that opposes the stator at a distance therefrom in the axial direction, and that receives the magnetic flux and generates torque around the axis; a conversion mechanism that is drivably coupled to the rotor and converts the torque to thrust force in a direction along the axis, and that is provided with a thrust member that utilizes the thrust force; and a clutch that opposes the thrust member, receives the thrust force, and couples the first shaft to the second shaft.
