Abstract:
To provide a circuit breaker that reduces the thermal effect of arc gas generated when a short-circuit current flows.SOLUTION: A circuit breaker 10 includes a movable contact 50 provided with a movable contact 51 that moves so as to come into contact with a fixed contact 321, and a separator 60 and a contact pressure spring 64 as a mechanism unit that drives the movable contact 50 so that the movable contact 51 transits between a conducting state in which the movable contact 51 contacts the fixed contact 321 and a non-conducting state in which the movable contact 51 does not contact the fixed contact. Further, in the non-conducting state, a shielding portion 80 is provided which is interposed between the fixed contact 321 and at least a part of the separator 60 as the mechanical portion and the contact pressure spring 64.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
