Abstract:
To provide a braking device capable of stably determining a clearance dimension of an operation chamber.SOLUTION: In a braking device 1 in which a coil 7, an iron core 5, and a rotor 9 are housed and sealed in a case 3, the iron core 5 is disposed on an inner surface of a peripheral wall of the case 3 and integrally provided with an outer core 29 and an inner core 31, which have the circular shape, around a rotation axis of the rotor 9, an operation chamber 37 having a circular set clearance in a rotation radius direction, and storing a magnetic viscous fluid is disposed between the outer core 29 and the inner core 31, the coil 7 is supported by at least one of the inner core 31 and the outer core 29 of the iron core 5 and forms a magnetic flux loop intersecting with the operation chamber 37 by energization, and the rotor 9 is integrally mounted on a rotating shaft 21 supported by the case 3 and rotatable about a rotation axis, and includes a circular rotor operation portion 9a disposed in the operation chamber 37.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
