Abstract:
To provide an air valve including a structure which can reliably deal with freezing damage while maintaining simple disassemblability without complicating its structure and assembly work, can be applied very easily to existing air valves, and can be utilized readily for a mouth ring of a fire hydrant etc.SOLUTION: An air valve includes: an inflow port 20 provided at a lower part of a valve box 1; a float valve element 3 housed in a guide cylinder body 2 disposed in the valve box; and a floating valve element 4 located above the float valve element 3 and having a small air hole 37. A freezing damage prevention unit 61 having a large air hole 12 and an expansion absorption chamber 65 is detachably attached to the valve box through fixing means 11 at an opening provided at an upper part of the valve box.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
