Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel for a wheel barrow with a brake capable of being borne by an ordinary frame, which includes a pair of supporting plates compatible with a boss width of a locally procurable ordinary wheel, owing to remodeling of a hubcap of a wheel.SOLUTION: A wheel barrow includes a frame F, a wheel W, and a bucket K installed in the frame F. A brake drum 11 is disposed on one of the flanks of a hubcap 1 of the wheel W as an integral part of the hubcap. A brake unit BU that generates a friction force by pressing the inner circumferential surface of the brake drum 11 is disposed on one of the flanks of the hubcap 1, and is borne by an axle 5 of the wheel W. The width U of a boss 10 of the axle 5 of the wheel W is identical to the width U of a boss 10' of an axle 5 of an ordinary wheel W' devoid of the brake unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
