Abstract:
To enable a driver to determine proper timing for the inspection and replacement of a brake pad.SOLUTION: A wear detection device for detecting wear of a friction material for use in a mechanical brake of a vehicle comprises: a first detection part that detects the braking amount of the mechanical brake; a processing part that calculates deceleration of the vehicle decelerated by the braking amount detected by the first detection part and that executes first comparison processing for comparing the calculated deceleration with a lower limit in an allowable range of the deceleration by the braking amount; and an output part that outputs the result of comparison in the first comparison processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
