Abstract:
To provide a water softening apparatus capable of performing regeneration treatment of a water softening tank with a weakly acidic cation exchange resin without causing softened water supply restrictions to the user.SOLUTION: A water softening device 1 includes a water softening tank 3, a neutralization tank 4, an electrolysis tank 12, and a control unit 32. The water softening tank 3 softens raw water containing hardness components by means of a weakly acidic cation exchange resin 10. A neutralization tank 4 neutralizes a pH of the softened water that has circulated through the softening tank 3 by means of weakly basic anion exchange resin 11. The electrolysis tank 12 produces acidic electrolyzed water to regenerate weakly acidic cation exchange resin 10 in the water softening tank 3 and alkaline electrolyzed water to regenerate weakly basic anion exchange resin 11 in the neutralization tank 4. The control unit 32 controls the regeneration process of the weakly acidic cation exchange resin 10 and the weakly basic anion exchange resin 11, identifies a time period during which the regeneration process can be performed based on information about the time the raw water was circulated through the neutralization tank 4 during the water softening process, and causes the regeneration process to be performed during the identified time period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
