Abstract:

To provide a volume reduction processing method and a volume reduction processing device of radioactive waste capable of processing continuously solid waste including hulls.

Hull end pieces 11 are separated 12 by a separator such as a sieve, and after separating and removing large-size end pieces or the like 13, a processing object 2 mainly composed of hollow hulls is inputted 14 continuously into a crusher, and compressed 15 in the radial direction to reduce the volume. A crusher of a double roll system is used as the crusher. Off-gas 16 generated in a compression process 15 by the crusher is collected, and processed and recovered in an off-gas processing system 17. The compressed material 3 including compressed and processed hulls is kneaded with cement, poured into a disposal vessel, and subjected to cement solidification processing 18.
