Abstract:
PURPOSE:To miniaturize a unit having a vibration isolating effect and to simpli fy the structure thereof, by utilizing a resilient contraction member which changes its diameter to exhibit a suitable damping characteristic when com pressed air is applied thereto. CONSTITUTION:A resilient contraction member 10 has a tubular member 14 made of rubber or rubber-like resilient materials and a braided reinforcement 15 surrounding the outer periphery of a tubular member 14 and made of organic or inorganic high-tensile fibers, etc., both ends openings of the tubular member 14 being plugged with closing members 16, 16 one of which allows pressurized fluid to be fed therefrom. The resilient contraction member 10 is suspended from a housing, and an object to be suspended is coupled to a suspender 12 attached to the free end section of the resilient contraction member 10. When pressurized fluid is fed into the tubular member 14, the resilient contraction member 10 changes its diameter and contracts in the axial direction thereof. Even if the object to be suspended vibrates so that an axial tension acts upon the resilient contraction member 10, the internal pressure of the resilient contrac tion member 10 increases so that a greater compression force is created to cancel out the tension.
