Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure torsional rigidity while reducing the outer diameter of a transmission shaft of a crank type continuously variable transmission.SOLUTION: When small diameter portions 15a supporting bearings 16 and pinions 18 having tooth tips projecting radially outward from the small diameter portions 15a are alternately arranged on the outer periphery of a transmission shaft 15, the torsional rigidity of the transmission shaft 15 decreases at the small diameter portions 15a and increases at the pinions 18. Since the width Wp of the pinion 18 in the axis L direction is larger than the width Wr of a ring gear 19b in the axis L direction, the width Ws of the small diameter portion 15a, which reduces the rigidity, becomes short, and the width Wp of the pinion 18, which increases the rigidity, becomes large, so that the torsional rigidity of the transmission shaft 15 increases as a whole. As a result, while reducing the outer diameter of the pinion 18 and reducing the sizes of an eccentric cam 17 and an eccentric disc 19, it is possible to maintain the torsional rigidity of the transmission shaft 15 at the same level as the conventional one.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
