Abstract:
To change a valve lift amount at low cost regardless of the number of cylinders.SOLUTION: A cam lobe piece 14 is engaged with a valve lifter 20. A camshaft 12 supports the cam lobe piece 14 so as to be displaceable in an axial direction. A displacement mechanism constituted by an electromagnet 16 and a return spring 18 is configured to displace the cam lobe piece 14 in the axial direction. Here, the cam lobe piece 14 has a high lift cam 14c and a low lift cam 14d that are arranged side by side in the axial direction and respectively define a high lift amount and a low lift amount. The electromagnet 16 energizes attraction force with the cam lobe piece 14, and the return spring 18 energizes restoring force in a direction opposite to the attraction force with the cam lobe piece 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
