PURPOSE: To eliminate possible loss of a cover being kept at the same location as an umbrella so as to separate from the umbrella by providing a support device inside a water shielding cloth stuck on the umbrella to support the cover of the umbrella on the support device.

CONSTITUTION: An umbrella 1 is so arranged as to house a cover 11 inside a water shielding cloth 7. A strip-shaped cloth piece 8 provided with a pair of hooks H comprising a protrusion part 8a and a recess part 8b is sewn with an external end part of the hooks H near the outer rim of the water shielding cloth 7. Likewise, another strip-shaped cloth piece 9 having no hooks in the centripetal direction of the strip-shaped cloth piece 8 is sewn at both side end parts. After the cover 11 is taken off the umbrella 1, a hook F provided on the opening side thereof is caught on the hooks H comprising the protrusion part 8a and the recess part 8b provided inside the water shielding cloth 7 while it is inserted between an end part for the side where a hole for a ferrule 3 exists and the strip-shaped cloth piece 9 of the water shielding cloth 7. The cover 11 is supported at two points longitudinally on the internal surface of the water shielding cloth 7 thereby enabling the prevention of slipping of the cover accurately with the hooks H.
