Abstract:
To provide a torque converter for improving its volumetric coefficient while making its flat ratio smaller to reduce the size of a whole device.SOLUTION: A torque converter 1 includes a front cover 2, an impeller 5, a turbine 6, and a stator 7. A flat ratio (L/H) which is the ratio of an axial size L to a radial size H of a torus 8 constituted by the impeller 5, the turbine 6, and the stator 7 is 0.5 or smaller. A flow path area ratio (a/A) of a minimum flow path area a of the impeller 5 and the turbine 6 to an area A of a circle of which the diameter is the outer diameter of the torus 8 is 0.14-0.16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
