Abstract:
To complement containment performance of a housing without increasing a thickness of the housing and changing the design of the housing.SOLUTION: A toroidal continuously variable transmission includes at least one containment device which covers an object disc, being at least one of an input disc and an output disc. The containment device has a ring which covers an outer peripheral surface of the object disc while forming a space between itself and the outer peripheral surface in a radial direction. An axial maximum dimension of the ring is larger than an axial maximum dimension of the outer peripheral surface of the object disc.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
