To provide a toilet paper holder with which paper is pulled and cut off from the roll of toilet paper in a stable state with one hand in a Western style toilet and even in a Japanese style toilet used while squatting down especially.
On the part of a lid (15) pivoted to a holder main body (12) positioned near the peak part outer periphery of the roll (13) of the toilet paper, a projection part (20) extended parallelly to the axial direction of a core (14) almost corresponding to a roll width and projected forming an angle α on the surface of the lid is provided. An opening (21) through which the toilet paper pulled upwards from the roll passes is provided between the projection part and the pivot of the lid and many teeth (17) with sharp tips are provided on the free end of the projection part. The angle α is turned to the angle at which the force of pressing the lid (15) to a roll surface through the projection part (20) by the toilet paper effectively acts at the time of pulling the toilet paper pulled upwards from the roll through the opening (21) downwards, and the toilet paper is cut off by the force of hitting the teeth (17) of the projection part simultaneously.
