Title:
GAS DETECTING ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5853744
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an element which has well-balanced sensitivity to an explosion lower limit of each of methane, butane and hydrogen, by constituting an effective component with three of indium oxide, iron oxide and palladium oxide.

CONSTITUTION: A relative ratio among indium oxide, iron oxide and palladium oxide is that 85W40wt%, based on the total of the three, of indium oxide, 15W 60wt% iron oxide and 0.06W6wt% palladium oxide. If the iron oxide is less than 15wt%, an element resistance value is too small, and if it exceeds 60wt%, sensitivity to hydrogen and concentration dependency become low, and balance on sensitivity to each gas is lost. In case palladium oxide is less than 0.06wt%, sensitivity to methane gas is remarkably low, and if it exceeds 6wt%, concentration on each gas becomes low. Platinum oxide and rhodium oxide are further added to 3 types of the oxides, where necessary, and this adjusts sensitivity to hydrogen gas and an improves concentration dependency.
